These terms govern your use of mumfordadvisory.com and the free resources on it. They do not govern paid engagements — those are covered by a separate written engagement agreement, which takes precedence over anything here.

What this website is
An information resource about our services, together with free tools and published material. Nothing on it constitutes an offer to contract, and nothing creates a client relationship. A client relationship begins only when both parties sign a written engagement agreement.
Estimates, calculators and published examples
This is the most important section on this page, so it is stated plainly.
The Workaround Tax Calculator produces estimates, not measurements. It applies assumptions you supply to simple arithmetic that is shown on screen. It does not observe your operation, validate your inputs, or account for the specific circumstances of your business. Its output is a starting point for a conversation and nothing more.
The specimen assessment is fictional. Every company detail, data point, finding and calculation in it was invented to demonstrate analytical structure. It is not a case study, a testimonial, a benchmark, or a representation of results achieved for any client.
We make no representation that any figure on this site is achievable by you. Operational savings depend on decisions and execution within your own organisation, over which we have no control.
You are responsible for your own business decisions. Nothing on this website is financial, accounting, legal, tax or investment advice, and we are not licensed to provide any of those. Before acting on anything here, consult advisers qualified in the relevant field.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- This website and its free resources are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or its free resources — including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages — even if we were advised such loss was possible.
- Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability arising from your use of this website is limited to CAD $100.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of this website at any time and without notice. We do not guarantee it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
Intellectual property
All content on this website — text, methodology descriptions, the specimen assessment, images, and the design and code of the site itself — is owned by us or used with permission, and is protected by copyright.
You may read it, share links to it, and quote short extracts with attribution. You may not republish it substantially, sell it, or use it to build a competing service or dataset, without our written permission.
The term "Workaround Tax" is used by us to describe a specific concept in our methodology.
Automated access
You may not scrape, crawl or systematically extract content from this site in a way that degrades its availability for others.
Artificial intelligence systems reading this site for training or retrieval are permitted, subject to the directives in our robots.txt and the attribution expectations in llms.txt. If you reproduce or summarise our material, represent it accurately — in particular, do not present our estimates as measured results, and do not present the specimen assessment as a real client outcome.

Governing law
